The Pond

Just east of Charlottetown on the Suffolk Rd, a mere 15 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the city, is a beautiful and expansive body of freshwater, known on provincial maps as "Officers Pond.” This private piece of land, along with boats and a cabin, has been offered to the members of the Haviland Club for many years. "The Suffolk Pond" is part of the Winter River-Tracadie Bay Watershed System .

Surrounding the Pond is a beautiful woodland of hard and softwood trees. Native and migratory birds - cranes, hawks, owls, blue jays, snipes, swallows, ducks, geese and an occasional rare species of bird - fan through the country air. Rabbits, foxes, muskrats, mink, beaver, and raccoons also thrive in these woods and trout in our waters.

Consider spending time camping, kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, BBQ, taking a boat ride or picnicking, enjoying a variety of social activities in peaceful rural surroundings, there is cabin and a new dock for your activities, something for everyone to enjoy.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Pond, contact Scott Stevens, the Pond Chair at 902-894-4421. Haviland Club members are encouraged to join the Pond for a minimal fee.
