Significant Dates for Farringford

1867 - Esther Lowden purchased two lots on Dundas Esplanade

1869 - Farringford completed for the cost of 4,569 pounds Sterling. Family moves into the house.

1896 - Death of Esther Lowden

1898 - House leased to the USA Government for their Consular Operations

1917 - US Consulate moved out of Farringford. House divided into rental units.

1927 - Lot beside house with the stable, sold.

1942 - The Army and Navy Club rented the lower floor.

1944 - The Army and Navy Club purchased the house from Esther Lowden's Heirs, for $4,000

1947 - The name changed to "The United Services Officers Club"

1987 - Female officers were allowed to join the Club, with restrictions.

1997 - The United Officers Club is disbanded and closed.

1997 - The Haviland Club Inc is born. A new civilian club for all.  

2022- The Haviland Club 25th Anniversary  (1997-2022)
